Must-do bucket list activities in Las Vegas

Check out a production show

There are countless reasons why Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the world, and one of the biggest draws are any one of the incredible shows you can catch. From the high-energy performances of Cirque du Soleil to the stunning musical performances, there is something for everyone and is a must do while living in Las Vegas.

“Las Vegas offers a world-class selection of exhilarating production shows that are high-energy, fun, and memorable. My favorite is Usher, who just launched a new residency at Park MGM which is a non-stop party of dancing and chart-topping hits that will absolutely blow your mind. I also highly recommend Mad Apple at New York, New York, which embodies everything we love about Cirque, the high-flying acrobatics, elaborate costumes, and music but with a modern variety show twist that incorporates interactive stand-up comedy, New York street culture, and magicians,” shares Lindsay Feldman, publicist and founder of Las Vegas PR agency  BrandBomb PR.

Check out the Arts District

The Arts District is located just a few minutes from the Strip and offers a unique experience that is a refreshing departure from the city’s tourist attractions. The district is home to a thriving arts community, with galleries, studios, and performance spaces showcasing the work of local and international artists. In addition to the art, the area is also home to a diverse range of restaurants, bars, and shops.

Local photographer Fig + Willow Studios shares, “While you’re in Las Vegas, you should definitely check out the Arts District. This up-and-coming area is a walkable haven full of awesome local restaurants and cool, hip breweries. My favorite restaurant in the area is definitely Tacotarian. Famous for its awesome vegan tacos (Get the Chorizo taco and Chicken Milanesa). This place is so good that even Kamala Harris and other figures have stopped by Tacotarian while they’re in town.”

Go kayaking in the Black Canyon on Lake Mohave

The Black Canyon is located on the border of Arizona and Nevada and is home to some of the most stunning natural scenery in the Southwest. Kayaking through the waters of Lake Mohave allows visitors to explore the canyon’s towering cliffs, hidden coves, and crystal-clear waterfalls as well as a variety of wildlife, including bighorn sheep, eagles, and osprey.

“Go kayaking in the incredible Black Canyon on Lake Mohave, which is part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area,” recommends Stefani Dawn, Co-Founder of Climb-On Maps. “If you hire a certified guide service, you can launch your boat below the Hoover Dam and stop at hot springs (and take a dip) along the way. Or you can launch at Willow Beach and visit the glowing emerald cave. The water at this part of Lake Mohave comes out of the bottom of Lake Mead at the Hoover Dam, and it is very cold, so life jackets must be worn at all times for safety. But, the water is crystal clear and a great way to cool down in the summer heat.”
